Toxicology reports show that Grammy-winning Tejano singer Emilio Navaira was intoxicated at the time of his bus accident in March. The singer was driving his tour bus when it crashed into freeway barrels in suburban Houston. The Houston Chronicle reported the release of the toxicology tests, and also reported that Navaira was also arrested for driving while intoxicated in September of 2000. While driving his tour bus on March 23, the bus slammed into the freeway barrels, throwing Navaira through the windshield. Doctors performed two brain surgeries and repaired an aneurysm on his right lung. While listed in critical condition for quite a while, the singer is now making progress. He has been able to stand, eat, sign his name and talk with his family. Doctors are anticipating he will have memory and concentration problems while continuing to recover. Related Videos:
