Songwriter Richard Fagan, charged with the murder of his business partner Tom Oteri, was ordered yesterday by a Nashville judge to undergo in-patient drug and alcohol treatment.

The judge set his bond at $20,000 and required the songwriter be checked into Discovery Place, a Dickson County rehab center. Fagan slashed Oteri's wrist with a pocketknife during an argument Saturday night, then left his house. The two had been drinking, and Fagan was arrested that evening on a drunk driving charge. He phoned a friend from the jail to ask that he look in on Oteri. Authorities believe Fagan had no idea the laceration was potentially fatal. Oteri was the father of former "Saturday Night Live" cast member Cheri Oteri. Fagan's credits also include such hits as Moe Bandy's "Americana," Mel McDaniel's "Real Good Feel Good Song" and Clay Walker's "Only On Days That End In 'Y.'" Related Videos:
