Rock diva Tina Turner announced her seven-year hiatus was over during a taping of The Oprah Winfrey Show to be aired next week.
The eight-time Grammy-award winning performer, who has sold more concert tickets than any other solo artist, will return to the stage in October at a Kansas City show.
Turner admitted to Oprah that she was encouraged to return to the stage by screen-siren Sophia Loren. Turner says Loren told her, “People want to see you. Get back to work.”
Turner’s music contributions have earned her the title of “The Queen of Rock and Roll.”
