Dilated Peoples

Hot Hot Heat, Louis XIV, Juliette and The Licks, the 88, Dilated Peoples, Godhead and B Real of Cypress Hill have been confirmed for the first Sunset Strip Music Festival, to be held June 26-28 throughout several music venues along Los Angeles' Sunset Strip.

Organizers are still lining up additional artists for the summer event, which is designed to celebrate the musical history of the famed Sunset Strip. Over the years, venues along the Strip have hosted shows by Van Halen, Guns N' Roses, Pennywise, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Motley Crue, Black Flag, Prince, David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen and the Police, among many others.

Participating venues for the Sunset Strip Music Festival include the Roxy Theatre, the Whiskey A-Go-Go, House of Blues, Viper Room and the Cat Club. The three-day event is being produced by Los Angeles' Sunset Strip Business Association. Approximately 9,000 concertgoers are expected to attend, according to organizers.

Additional artists and ticketing information will be available via the festival's Web site.

In addition to live music, CNN's Larry King will moderate an "Icon Roundtable" discussion with music industry icons Mario Maglieri, Lou Adler and Elmer Valentine -- all of whom played a role in shaping the Sunset Strip. Further details about the private roundtable discussion weren't available at deadline.

The upcoming event is not connected to last October's Sunset Strip Block Party, a one-off private event that featured Linkin Park, Common, the Crystal Method, Cut Chemist, Z-Trip and Supernatural. The artists played several Sunset Strip clubs in an effort to educate members of the press and entertainment community about SanDisk flash memory cards.
