Alicia Keys has endeavored to find a backing singer by auditioning contestants via Myspace. The singer, who is currently supporting the release of her ‘As I Am’ album, will screen people via the social networking site through videos uploaded to her Myspace page by the contestants. People interested are asked to submit a 30 second or longer video of an a capella version of an Alicia Keys song, and the competition is open to females between the ages of 21 and 30. According to a press release, contestant must also have a valid passport, and must be physically fit and able to dance. Deadline for submissions is May 5. A winner will be selected around May 15. The winner will get a chance to tour with her as part of the worldwide ‘ As I Am’ tour. ’As I Am’ was released in November last year and so far has sold over five million copies worldwide. It has enjoyed the Number One spot on the Billboard chart on several occasions since its release, and earned the singer two Grammy awards for Best R&B Song and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.
