Former "Saturday Night Live" comedienne Cheri Oteri's father was stabbed to death in his Nashville home Saturday by his roommate.
Gaetano Thomas Oteri, 69, was murdered by his longtime music associate, country songwriter Richard Fagan, 61. Fagan was arrested and charged with homicide.
The local city's newspaper The Tennessean reports that the songwriter was arrested for DUI Saturday night.
According to affidavits, Fagan had used a Colt pocket knife to stab Oteri before he left the scene. Oteri's body was discovered by a friend on Sunday afternoon.
Fagan is credited as co-writer for John Michael Montgomery's hit songs "Be My Baby Tonight" and "Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)."
