So far Coldplay has one confirmed Canadian date, at The Pemberton Festival in B.C. the weekend of July 25.
Also starting today, Violet Hill, the first single from the new album, will be available as a free download from the band's website, coldplay.com, for one week. The digital release will be a conventional paid-for release on May 6.
The album, produced by Brian Eno and Markus Dravs, hits stores in North America June 17.
