Coldplay

British pop-rockers Coldplay will play two free shows in support of their new album, Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends. The concerts are scheduled for June 16 at London's Brixton Academy and June 23 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Check coldplay.com for details on how to win tickets. Do not contact the venues as no tickets will be available to buy.

So far Coldplay has one confirmed Canadian date, at The Pemberton Festival in B.C. the weekend of July 25.

Also starting today, Violet Hill, the first single from the new album, will be available as a free download from the band's website, coldplay.com, for one week. The digital release will be a conventional paid-for release on May 6.

The album, produced by Brian Eno and Markus Dravs, hits stores in North America June 17.
