Tim McGraw’s Swampstock is on the books for Sept. 13 as he returns to Rayville, La., for another installment of a benefit concert that was previously an annual event in his hometown.
Swampstock started in 1994, with Tim presenting a multi-act concert and a celebrity softball game designed to pour money back into the community. This year’s event, now held every other year, will help Tim and wife Faith Hill’s Neighbor’s Keeper Foundation continue to give back in the area.
Swampstock has featured numerous notable moments through the years. Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen joined Tim for two songs at the 2004 installment, foreshadowing Tim’s participation this year in the new Def Leppard album. Faith suffered an ankle injury when she was hit by a line drive during the softball game in 2000. And Tim and Faith shocked friends and fans when they chose Swampstock as the setting for their marriage in 1996.
Special guests in the past have included such acts as Martina McBride, Big & Rich, Chris Cagle and the Warren Brothers. This year’s guest performers will be announced at a later date.
