Embattled actor Rob Lowe is relieved his two young sons are old enough to understand what their dad is going through as he fights sexual harassment accusations from their former nanny.

Jessica Gibson worked as the Lowe family’s nanny three separate times, but now the 24-year-old claims the TV star exposed himself to her and touched her inappropriately.

Lowe has denied Gibson’s claims and counters that the nanny made up the allegations as part of a plan to extort money from him and his family.

And he’s just relieved that his teenage sons "get" what’s going on.

He says, "My boys, they get it. They understand that sometimes being a celebrity exposes you to some really bad stuff - and sometimes you get to get a V.I.P. tour to Disneyland."

Still appalled by his ex-nanny’s allegations, Lowe tells U.S. news show Entertainment Tonight, "We live in a time where anybody can say anything about anybody, and I think people get that and the support has been just fantastic and humbling."
