Actor Patrick Dempsey discovered fame has its benefits after escaping a speeding ticket in Hollywood when a traffic cop recognized him as the star of Grey’s Anatomy.

The hunky star was racing to get to an interview on time when a cop pulled him over.

But he discovered that driving a Porsche GT3RS and starring in a top TV show can get you out of a lot of trouble.

He recalls, "The cop was really cool. He said, ‘At least you’re driving the Porsche properly’.

"He said ‘Oh, I know you!’ and I got out of it."
