Cameron Diaz says she and her family want to thank fans for their support in the death of her father Emilio Diaz. The actress released a statement to People magazine saying that they are coping with his sudden death with the help of “an amazing outpouring of love.”

Emilio, 58, died April 15 from pneumonia.

“His love for laughter was undeniable and he embraced life head-on in such a dynamic way that he was impossible to forget,” said the Diaz family in the statement. “As a family, it is almost impossible to put into words how amazing Emilio was.”

Earlier this week, Diaz received love and support from two of her ex-boyfriends, Justin Timberlake and John Mayer. The singers arrived to a memorial for Emilio separately but both stayed later with the family.
