Country star LeAnn Rimes has enlisted the help of little-known British singer/songwriter Sandi Thom to help pen tracks for her new album.

The Blue hitmaker is currently working on songs for her 11th LP and was impressed by the Scottish star when they met at music industry conference.

Rimes subsequently asked her to write a track for her, and Thom is thrilled as getting a high-profile artist to record her work could lead to international critical acclaim.

Thom says, "I went to a songwriting convention with a bunch of Grammy winners. LeAnn asked me to write her a song and she’s got it on hold at the moment.

"I dream of winning a Grammy for my songwriting."
