*Eddie Murphy is attached to star in a remake of "The Incredible Shrinking Man" for Universal Pictures, with "Rush Hour" director Brett Ratner in negotiations to shoot, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The updated version of the best-selling novel and classic 1957 film will be presented as more of a comedy than its sci-fi predecessor. The story follows a famous Las Vegas magician who searches for a way to reverse a spell that has caused him to shrink.
The project previously had Keenen Ivory Wayans in the director's chair.
Ratner is currently helming one of the short subjects in the "New York, I Love You" anthology film. At Universal, he is also attached to direct "Playboy," a project about Hugh Hefner.
