American Idol star Kristy Lee Cook had something to smile about after she was voted off the show on Wednesday night  - her boyfriend Andrew Dobner asked her to marry him.

Cook reveals Dobner asked the wannabe star to be his bride a month ago, but she was too busy with the TV talent show to really consider the proposal.

The romantic 25-year-old re-proposed minutes after she learned she was no longer a part of the show.

She says, "He actually got down on his knee this time."
