Jason Aldean

Jason Aldean has done well with his first two albums, going platinum with his self-titled debut and gold with his latest release, "Relentless." He's hardly done promoting that second album, but he's already been in the studio putting together the third.

"We started working on a new album in December," he told the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "We've cut about seven songs for a new album, so it's gonna be something we're gonna work on the rest of this year probably, more than likely. We're gonna go in the studio probably a couple more times and cut a few more songs."

Relentless has had several successes for Jason, including the first single "Johnny Cash" and the follow-up, "Laughed Until We Cried." He just recently released the title track and hasn't decided whether to put out one more "Relentless" single after that or unleash this next CD.

"We're just trying to get a jump on it, and I think we've got some great songs so far," Jason said. "But we're not finished. We're gonna have to go back in a couple of times, which is kind of hard to do when we're on the road all year. We kinda come in for a day here and a day there to try to finish it up, so we tried to knock out the majority of it when we were taking some time off."

Among the travel dates keeping Jason out of the studio are 30 concerts with Tim McGraw. That tour kicks off May 9 in Tampa.
