British singer Leona Lewis' former boss at a mortgage broker is keeping her old job open for her - in case her career in pop fails.

Lewis last month became the first British female solo star in over 20 years to top the U.S. singles chart with Bleeding Love.

But her old employer still reassures the 23-year-old she'll always have work if her singing path hits hard times.

Lewis says, "He was like, 'I'm still going to keep the job open for you.' And I think he's still kept it open until this day. He texts me sometimes and says, 'It's still open.'"
