Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will get naked while performing in the Broadway version of a British play called Eqqus.

Like he did in London, Radcliffe will play the troubled stable boy, who's naked on stage. In addition to the nudity, Radcliffe's character also smokes, something that is distinctly different than his clean image.

Thea Sharrock is directing Eqqus, which is based on the true story of a troubled young man who blinds horses with a metal hoof pick. Richard Griffiths, who plays Uncle Vernon in the Potter franchise, will also reprise his role as the psychiatrist who treats Radcliffe's troubled lead.

Radcliffe will make his Broadway debut on September 5 at Broadhurst Theater with previews for a limited, 22-week run that will stretch from September 25 to February 8, 2009.

During this time, the latest Harry Potter installment, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, will be released. The actual release date for the movie is November 21.
