SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE (CBS4) ― Cedella Marley Booker, the mother of late reggae musician Bob Marley, has passed away at her South Florida home.
CBS4.COM spoke to Booker's daughter-in-law, Shireen, who said her mother-in-law died of natural causes Tuesday night. She was surrounded by loved ones inside her home. She was said to be 'happy'.
Cedella Marley Booker was 81 years old.
Not only was she the mother of famed reggae musician Bob Marley, she was also a musician and author. She even has her own MySpace page.
She had written two books about her son and released two albums "Awake Zion" and "Smilin' Island of Song."
Family members are currently making arrangements for a memorial in her honor.
