As a doctor from CHicago, I would like to say that this case of violence sickened and saddened all of us in CHicago who say it. We hope that Victoria is recovering. I have seen ruptured ear drums from this sort of attack. I have also seen detached retinas with blindness from this kind of trauma. THe concussion and its sequellae could last many months. BUt, the psychological pain, with the bitterness, sense of hopeless and abandonment, can last a life time. I hope she has the best doctors and therapist she can possibly get.

Of course, people will blame the internet and you tube, etc for this attack. I do not feel that way. THe internet brought this information to the country and the world much quicker. It allowed all of us to see what happened and allowed us to render our support to the victim.

Hopefully, this tragic event will stimulate a dialogue in our country on the consequences of senseless violence. A life was tragically altered, and 8 others are going to have wasted their youth with the repercussions of this criminal activity.

This sort of violence is not new. 40 years ago, both Robert Kennedy and Martine Luther King were killed. We had violence in our living rooms every night from the long running Vietnam war. We overcame that challenge then, and we can overcome this challenge now. All we need is a dynamic new leader (are you out there, Barack) who can unite us, heal us, bring us together, and get us back on track again.

These six girls are nothing more than pathetic excuses for human beings. Did you guys hear what they said AFTER they were put behind bars? One of them was like "Well girls, I guess we're not going to the beach next week." and another stated "Am I gonna miss cheer practice tomorrow?" These animals have absolutely no remorse for the Victoria Lyndsay. Instead of at least just ONE of them saying "this is taking it too far, its wrong just let her go" we have one of the cheerleading sluts saying "watch the cabinets" (like her parents' china is more important) and another proclaiming "we only have 17 seconds on film left, make it good!"

They posted this film on youtube and myspace to embarrass Victoria Lyndsay and gain fame. You guys will not believe that negative comments they received on youtube (or so i've heard). Well, they got their fame.

Their parents want to testify that the kids were too young to be punished as adults. HOWEVER, the following are the crimes they have been charged with:

(1)Kidnapping
(2)Aggrivated assault
(3)Battery
(4)Accomplices
(5) Video taping + defamation of a person
(6) High school cheerleaders
(7) 14-17 years old
(8) Planned attack (pre-meditated)

Those charges seem like they were committed by adults, not some mistakes made by some little kids. These animals deserve capital punishment.

What these girls and boys did was unconscionable and disgusting. They should be punished to the maximum extent that the law allows, which will include lengthy prison sentences. I plan to personally contact the district attorney in that area with my thoughts and this matter and I guarantee there will be no leniency. These people will learn what “tough” is all about when they experience life in the general population. I hope it was worth it because their lives are effectively over.

With regard to civil matters, the families of these girls will also learn an important financial lesson as they will be cleaning out their bank accounts and selling their assets to compensate this poor girl. A lot of pain is coming their way and the value of teaching children right and wrong will be the cornerstone of this lesson.

This girl previously went to my school Plant City High School. She moved away to Mulberry because at Plant City she suffered a hard beating and her parents were trying to get her into a new enivornment. Not very many people liked her because she continously talked trash about everyone and threatened to beat them up as well. Although many people didn't like her, many of us students from Plant City would never have wished this severe beating on her. Nobody deserves to be beaten to the point of unconicousness, no matter how much trash was talked or how much you hated her. I would NEVER beat the living crap out of someone. This is just WRONG! First of all, no matter what that girl said on her MySpace, they did not have the right to beat her up. While I was watching this video it had me in tears. Just to see that this young teenage girl was getting beat up from her so called “friends” it is absolutely ridiculous. I can’t believe it! In my own opinion, I think those girls should be in put behind juvenile bars. They need to know that people don’t look up to that. And by them thinking they would become famous for putting this out on you tube is just insane! They’re way to out of control. I have seen this replayed all day and it boils my blood. Six on one? No way out for the victim. Even if she had fought back, they would take her. Nothing justifies this kind of beating. She has ear and eye damage! I agree that they should go to prison as adults and have that filmed for the world to see. I am sure their "bravery" in that situation will be punishment enough.
