Taylor Swift

The William Morris Agency (WMA) has signed platinum country singer/songwriter Taylor Swift for representation in all areas.

Responsible agents are Nashville-based senior VP Greg Oswald, and on the West Coast, Dave Wirtschafter, president of WMA, and Jason Trawick in the film area, along with a team of about a dozen agents that will work on the various aspects of Swift's career.

"Her future is limitless. She is the kind of person that I think can clearly go for decades and decades," Oswald tells sources. "All of the God-given gifts and tools are there. She writes 'em, she sings 'em, and she backs it up from a very real place, which means what happens down the line is pretty much in her control."

Adds Trawick, "Taylor is genuinely a multi-faceted artist. She will bring the same charisma and passion that she brings to the stage and her videos, to all aspects of her career."

Swift, 18, who has topped the 43 million mark for music streams on her MySpace page, began her career at age 14 when she was signed as a staff songwriter at Sony/ATV Music Publishing. At 15, she signed with Big Machine Records in Nashville, and released her debut CD the following year. Since then, she has won the 2007 CMA Horizon Award, the 2007 CMT music award for breakthrough video, received a 2008 Grammy nomination for the all-genre best new artist award, and was nominated for favorite female country artist by the American Music Awards.

"Taylor is a gifted singer, songwriter, and musician, who has the talent to do anything she puts her mind to," says Wirtschafter, who will take an active role in Swift's career.

Last year, Swift had key slots on tours by Kenny Chesney, George Strait, Brad Paisley, and Tim McGraw & Faith Hill. She will tour with Rascal Flatts in 2008. She will release her second album this fall on Big Machine.

Swift was previously booked by Creative Artists Agency (CAA).
