Phil Vassar has made a very good living by writing about his own experiences and about the things he's seen in the world around him. For his next album, however, Phil went deeper into his own life than he ever has before in building the 12 songs that comprise "Prayer Of A Common Man."

As usual, the CD features some upbeat, nostalgic fare, and his current single, "Love Is A Beautiful Thing," has a decidedly positive spin on relationships. But Phil also went through a divorce since he last released a studio project, and some of the turmoil from the last few years found its way into his songwriting, which is a bit more introspective than usual.

"Prayer Of A Common paints a picture of my life," Phil says. "Experience changes you and affects what comes out in your writing."

Phil is currently taping a special for GAC, and will be the network's featured Artist of the Month during May.
