Chris "Ludacris" Bridges will join rocker Tommy Lee for the new reality competition "Battleground Earth," a project under Discovery Networks' forthcoming eco-centric channel Planet Green.
According to Daily Variety, the show will feature Ludacris and Tommy competing in various challenges around the country that highlight green issues. The series will culminate with the two artists meeting up in Los Angeles to headline a concert at the Greek Theater – with proceeds benefiting Griffith Park.
Produced by The Greif Co., which brought "Gene Simmons Family Jewels" to A&E, "Battleground" is expected to begin production on ten episodes in the next few weeks for a late July or early August premiere. Planet Green debuts in 50 million homes on June 4.
In other Ludacris news, the rapper-turned-actor has just been cast in the Fox film "Max Payne" alongside Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis and Beau Bridges. His upcoming film projects include "Ball Don't Lie," which premieres at Tribeca, and Guy Ritchie's "RocknRolla," expected in October.
