Mos Def Joins Beyonce On 'Cadillac Records'

Mos Def

Brooklyn bred rapper Mos Def has been added to the cast of the upcoming movie Cadillac Records.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cadillac Records is based on the true story of Chess Records, a Chicago based record label which was home to blues legends like Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters.

Mos Def will be playing rock legend Chuck Berry in the flick.  The movie is currently filming in New Jersey and the cast also includes Beyonce and Gabrielle Union.

Beyonce will be playing singer Etta James while Gabrielle Union plays Geneva Wade, Muddy Waters' girlfriend.
