Ailing Patrick Swayze has taken to the skies in a bid to fly away his cancer woes.

The Dirty Dancing star went public with his pancreatic cancer diagnosis earlier this month, and is currently undergoing treatment.

And he’s finding time to get away from his health crisis by taking off for long flights around California and Nevada with his wife Lisa Niemi, according to OK! magazine.

As well as flying from their home to Stanford University Medical Center, where Swayze is being treated, the licensed pilot is also enjoying pleasure flights.

A source tells the publication that the actor and his wife recently spent 11 hours in their 11-seat Beechcraft Super King Air 200, flying to various sites around California and Nevada.

The source says, "Being able to do what they love most, and do it together, is helping them to remain as optimistic as possible."
