Diamond Rio has built a dedicated web of fans and supporters who help raise money for charity through Team Rio, and the organization is getting ready to raise more again this year when Nashville hosts the Country Music Marathon and Half-Marathon.

The group receives coaching, training schedules and motivation, and it all comes with a purpose. "I am truly blown away at the accomplishments of Team Rio," guitarist Jimmy Olander says. "I believe the success is directly related to the personal touch and willingness of all our volunteers and corporate friends to step up, put in the miles, hand out water, get rained on, pledge money and basically lead an amazing example of what I aspire to be. I am a richer man for knowing these folks." This year's Country Music Marathon is slated for April 26. In addition to Team Rio, Team McGraw — headed by Dancehall Doctors Jeff McMahon and Dean Brown — will take part to raise money for brain tumor research. At the close of the race, runners will receive free admission to a concert featuring guitarist Steve Cropper and Lady Antebellum. Related Videos:
