Day 26

Diddy's male R&B group, Day 26, is preparing to drop their debut album on Tuesday (Mar. 25). In this SOHH exclusive, we talk to the Bad Boys about how they're coming to take over the game, the video for their first single, "Got Me Going," and the group name.

During the start of the second season of Making The Band 4, Diddy announced the name of his newly formed male R&B group. The quintet, which is comprised of Brian, Big Mike, Que, Robert and Willie is called Day 26, a name which they are quite fond of.

"We love it," Willie exclaims. "We came up with the name. Day 26, nobody is gonna understand it off the bat but the people that really follow us, know that our finale was on August 26." [Watch below]

Before coming up with Day 26, the boys asked their fans to help them come up with a name.

"We had a little contest on MTV.com so people can log in and put in names and try to come up with our name," Robert explained. "The list went on and on and on from 'Diddy's Boys'..."

"They wanted to name us 'Bad Boy,'" Que interrupts.

The guys whittled down a list of names, sifting through the "good names, bad names, funny names [and] stupid names," and ended up with the perfect one. "We wanted a name that meant something to us," says Willie. "Really, what better name could describe us than the day that changed all of our lives?"

Day 26 recently released the video for the first single, "Got Me Going."

"The song is hot," Brian declared. "The video is hot. The concept it hot. It's not your regular R&B video. We're all really excited about it. I can honestly say we're all like five little Denzels."

"We got to showcase a lot of things that people might not think we have seeing that we was put together on a reality TV show," Robert added. "We got to showcase all our talent vocally. We got to showcase all our dance moves and let the world know that we ain't stiff up on the stage and we do got the dancin' on point. So ya'll watch out, we are a triple threat and we coming through.

Day 26's self-titled debut album hits stores this Tuesday via Bad Boy Records.
