Chris Crocker — who became a YouTube sensation for his freak-out over Britney Spears — now may really have something to cry about. He lost out in the best commentary category at yesterday’s second annual YouTube awards, which recognize the top user-created videos of 2007. (Michael Buckley of the hit online show "What the Buck?" took home the honor for slamming fellow YouTube star Lonelygirl15.) "Chocolate Rain — the YouTube clip that got musician Tay Zonday booked on national TV shows and received more than 16 million views — won for "Best Music Video." Zonday told the Associated Press he hopes to earn "a living making art and producing music" and is pursuing a voice-over career. What's the key to a great YouTube video? "Just be very authentic and put yourself out there," he said. "You'll never know what will happen." YouTube users voted on six nominees for each category: music, sports, comedy, instructional, short film, inspirational, commentary, creative, politics, series, eyewitness and "adorable."
