Plenty of fans have spent their hard-earned money to go see Keith Urban in concert, and when they do, they're having an experience that's quite familiar to Keith. It seems he, too, is a fan of going to shows.
Keith and wife Nicole Kidman attended one of the Australian concerts in the reunion tour by The Police in January, and they also took in a show in Sydney that month by rock band the Kings Of Leon. In fact, over the years Keith's been spotted in the crowd at concerts by the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Beck and Wynonna Judd, among others. Attending concerts is not only entertaining — it's good for his career.
"You find yourself picking up the things not to do or stealing good ideas," Keith told The Brisbane Courier-Mail. "Someone said if you take too much from one person, you're stealing, but if you take a bit from a lot of people, it's research."
As it turns out, Keith's research extends to visiting YouTube and taking a look at footage that fans have posted on the web.
"YouTube is great," he laughs, "because you get the actual fan point of view on some crap, lo-fi phone."
