Tonight's edition of "The Celebrity Apprentice" promises to be a doozy. Trace Adkins escaped the boardroom unscathed last week when Donald Trump fired Stephen Baldwin, instead of Trace, after their team lost in a Quiznos-related marketing challenge.
Trace and Stephen actually walked out of the room together, and a pat on the back made it clear there were no hard feelings between the two of them after Stephen got canned. That moment emphasized the way "The Apprentice" works.
"There was a certain amount of teamwork, but it did come down to individuals, too," Trace says. "There were a lot of egos in the room, so... even though you were trying to win for your team, it ultimately came down to everybody was lookin' out for No. 1."
Who will remain No. 1 at the end of the season is unknown, but the wait won't be long. Trump promised that tonight's episode of the NBC show would see not one, but two people fired at the same time. Next week will mark the final installment of "The Celebrity Apprentice," which is so popular that NBC renewed it for 2009.
