Conway Twitty

A musical production paying homage to the late Conway Twitty is in development, and producers are adding a unique element to the casting process for the touring attraction: They're making it possible to audition online.

It's Only Make Believe will tell the story of the Country Music Hall of Famer through the eyes of his children, employing many of the songs that made him famous. The producers are looking diligently for performers, and in addition to holding traditional auditions, they've set up a place on YouTube where hopeful actors can try out.

"It is much better to audition in person," producer Randy Johnson says. "But if you cannot make it to one of the three casting calls, we will be seriously considering those auditions posted on our YouTube audition site."

In addition to the part of Conway, roles are also being filled for duet partner Loretta Lynn, ex-wife Mickey Twitty, and his children: Joni, Kathy and Michael Twitty. Casting calls will be conducted by Nashville-based Buddy Lee Attractions in Los Angeles March 29, Las Vegas April 4, and Nashville April 8.
