While Muse has carved out a reputation for pushing musical boundaries, the British rock trio has been particularly busy of late exploring new routes to its fans.

Muse is on the verge of completing a trifecta of firsts all within the same month, which began with a performance at the March 7-8 Dubai Desert Rock Festival, included a U.K. cinecast, and now a features a visit to South Africa, where the band plays at the My Coke Fest event in Johannesburg on March 21 and Capetown on March 24.

Muse manager Anthony Addis says the band is committed to grabbing novel new opportunities when they present themselves. "We'll go anywhere to increase our position, and go and actually meet the fans," Addis told Billboard.com, just hours before flying out to South Africa today. "That's really what a lot of bands don't do. They don't take the chance. That's what we do."

He adds, "We've never done Dubai or South Africa. But if you don't go out there -- we know there are fans out there -- you can't grow. You've got to take that risk. We're going out there because we believe they are fantastic international growth markets."

Muse ticked another box with a cinecast to celebrate the launch of the Helium 3/Warner Bros CD/DVD package "H.A.A.R.P.," which gathers music and footage from the band's June 2007 Wembley Stadium concerts. A string of Vue Cinemas in Britain beamed "H.A.A.R.P." in High Definition and 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound on March 11.

The album has held the top spot in mid-week sales figures and is expected to make a big splash when the Official U.K. Charts Company publishes its charts on Sunday. American fans will also be treated to screenings of "H.A.A.R.P." on a date to be announced.

Addis hinted the band would begin work on a new album after completing its touring commitments, which include dates in South America. But he laughed off the question of when the album would be completed, explaining, "We've got a few songs in mind."

Muse's scaled-back summer calendar includes exclusive European dates at the U.K.'s V Festival Aug. 16 and 17. The band is also confirmed to play April 12 for the Teenage Cancer Trust week of events at London's Royal Albert Hall.
