Busta Rhymes was today (March 18) sentenced in a Manhattan Criminal Court for assault and DUI charges that he plead guilty to earlier this year as part of a plea deal. As reported earlier, Busta was accused of assaulting a fan who spat on his car and punching a former employee during a monetary dispute. He also faced charges of driving drunk and driving with a suspended license. To avoid trial and jail time, Busta plead guilty to the aforementioned charges in January as part of plea agreement which now requires him to be on probation for three years and do 0 days of community service. For the DUI and driving with a suspended license, Busta was ordered to pay $1,250 plus court costs and enroll in a drunken driving program. He was also ordered to give up his driver's license for six months. “If you mess up, you're going to jail,” Judge Larry Stephen warned Busta Rhymes on Tuesday. Busta faces a year in jail if he violates the probation. “I thank the judge for giving me a chance and I thank everybody for being supportive,” Busta told reporters outside the courthouse. The album will feature production from Dr. Dre, Green Lantern, Cool & Dre, Danjahandz, Nottz and Timbaland, among others.
