Phil Vassar's got a bona fide hit with his current single "Love Is A Beautiful Thing," but it's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to new material. The piano man has a new album ready for release April 22 — his first CD of all-new material since the 2004 album Shaken Not Stirred.
See Also:"It's been a few years since my last studio record," Phil reflects. "I've gotten divorced — so many things have happened in my life personally that ripped your guts out that you have to write about it. There are some songs on this album that you're gonna go, 'Where did that come from?' along with songs that are just really heartfelt and real. I think everything on the record is. I love the record. I'm really proud of it. The hardest part of it: We cut 15 or 17 songs, and I think the two or three we left out are some of my favorites, too." The new album is titled Prayer Of A Common Man. It's Phil's first collaboration with producer Mark Wright, who has some very impressive credentials, including Lee Ann Womack's "I Hope You Dance," Brooks & Dunn's "Red Dirt Road" and Gretchen Wilson's "Redneck Woman."
