Ashley Alexandra Dupre, the woman behind New York Governor Eliot Spitzer's prostitution scandal, has earned $200,000 from online music downloads.
The 22-year-old prostitute, professionally known as "Kristen," is also a singer and has made two of her tunes, "What We Want" and "Move Ya Body" available for $0.99 download on music website Amie Street. She has reportedly made more than $200,000 from the music download, which she put up online after the scandal with Spitzer broke earlier this week.
Senior VP for programming for radio station Z100 Tom Poleman says, "It's not a bad song," referring to "What We Want," which was played Thursday at their station. "Looks like she may have a new career, this time in music."
Dupre had been known as the prostitute who brought down Spitzer in the scandal that ended his Governorship. Spitzer, who had prosecuted several prostitution rings in his career, had been found by the FBI to be a patron of an escort service and has paid $80,000 over a period of several years. This had led him to publicly admit his involvement with the case and tender his resignation effective on March 17.
