Three 6 Mafia is preparing to drop their ninth studio album, Last 2 Walk, this spring. In this SOHH exclusive, the Oscar winners talk about the new album and why they won't be doing another reality show. Over the years Three 6 Mafia has seen many members come and go. Now, the Memphis based group consists solely of DJ Paul and Juicy J. That's why the duo decided to name their ninth studio album, Last 2 Walk. "It used to be like a million people in Three 6 Mafia," DJ Paul jokes. "Then it became like six and now it's two. [We're the] last two walking. We held up during all the trials and tribulations because we wrote all the songs and we did everything." The new album, which was originally scheduled for release last year, is now set to drop on June 24th. "The album is hot man, we got some production from Good Charlotte. We got Akon on there. We got a labelmate, great friend of ours and great musician, Lyfe Jennings," says Juicy J. In addition, DJ Unk, Juicy J's brother Project Pat, Eightball & MJG, Lil' White, Spanish Fly and Al Kapone also make appearances on Last 2 Walk. Though they did venture into new territory with the Good Charlotte collabo, "My Own Way," Juicy J insists that the new album will primarily consist of classic Three 6 Mafia material. "If it ain't broke we ain't tryin' to fix it so it's original Three 6 Mafia music," he says. "Straight gangsta, straight hood, straight party music." Last year, Three 6 starred in the MTV reality show, Adventures in Hollyhood, but the rappers have no intentions of doing another season. "No," says Paul, "We gotta focus on the music." Juicy J adds, "We had fun taping that show. It was a serious party. I wish we could do it again but it's time to get back to business. Fans want the music. They been calling us, emailing us, seeing us on the street. They want the music so it's time for us to bring out this album and give them what they want." Three 6 Mafia is currently on the road promoting their first single "I'd Rather" at strip clubs throughout the South and Midwest.
