After three years away from the game, Miami rapper Trina is ready to show everybody that she hasn't lost her edge as she gears up to release her latest album, Still The Baddest.
The Diamond Princess linked with R&B superstar Keyshia Cole for her latest single, "I Gotta Thing For You." The album, which is her fourth solo set, is the follow-up disc to her 2005 release, Glamorest Life.
With a new record on the horizon, Trina has been busy putting negativity behind her, setting the record straight on several rumors that have been circulating, including her relationship with Lil' Wayne and one that suggests that her and Missy Elliot are more than just friends.
"At first I was bothered," Trina said in a previous interview with SOHH. "Missy is a mentor to me, I came into this game and I looked up to her. To have somebody embrace me like that and say you should do this kind of record, this kind of show, I appreciated her as my friend, her being there to give support because everybody doesn't do that."
"When I heard the rumors that we were more than friends, at first I was like 'that's the ignorant minds of some people,'" she added. "But people are going to say whatever, regardless. She is just my friend, that's it. It's never been a more than just friends."
Still The Baddest is set to hit stores on April 1 on Atlantic/Slip-N-Slide Records
