Joe Perry, guitarist for Aerosmith, has canceled a solo show scheduled for April 5 in Niagara Falls, New York so he can recover from upcoming knee surgery. He was scheduled to play at the Seneca Allegany Casino and Hotel.
According to the Associated Press, Perry's spokeswoman released a statement on Monday saying that Perry had needed the knee surgery for two years but had to delay the surgery because it didn't fit with Aerosmith's touring schedule. During that time, his knee condition became worse and the pain became chronic.
Perry was performing two shows last weekend with Tab the Band, which features his two sons Adrian and Tony Perry, when he knee gave out after the show. The 57-year-old was then seen by his doctor, an orthopedic surgeon, who then scheduled the surgery for March 18.
Tickets for the performance will be refunded to fans. Rondon says Perry apologizes to his fans for missing the show.
