Dr. Dre

Super-producer Dr. Dre has found himself involved in yet another lawsuit after his company, Ary Inc., along with Aftermath & Interscope Records, were slammed with a suit for failing to pay millions in royalties by Mark and Jeff Bass, the Detroit brothers responsible for discovering Eminem.

According to the suit, the brothers along with Em2M LLC, owned by Joel Martin, claim the labels have failed to pay about $1 million dollars in back royalties, from master recordings of the musical performances by Eminem.

In 1995, the Bass Brother's F.B.T. productions signed Em to an exclusive recording contract. In 1998, they then entered an agreement with Aftermath granting them the exclusive services of Eminem.

Martin and The Bass Brothers are seeking an undisclosed amount in damages after the labels allegedly erroneously charged productions costs and other expenses to them, when they should have been billed directly to Eminem.

Last year, Dre filed a lawsuit in bankruptcy court against defunct label Death Row Records over who owns the rights to the 1992 album “The Chronic.”

That case is yet to be settled.
