The Beatles back catalogue could be made available as legal downloads for the first time, According to reports the Fab Four are on the verge of doing a deal said to be in the region of £300m. According to the Daily Telegraphy, the downloads are set to appear on iTunes after the band settled earlier disputes with their label EMI over royalties and with iTunes owners Apple over the use of the name. Paul McCartney’s albums have been available for download since May last year. It is anticipated the popularity of The Beatles will propel their songs back into the UK charts with download sales counting towards singles count. ’Yesterday’ is now 3/1 to be the band’s next Number One single.
