"Sex and the City" actress Cynthia Nixon spoke publicly for the first time about her relationship with partner Christine Marinoni.

Nixon has been with Marinoni, a New York City education activist, since 2003. The two got together soon after Nixon separated from her boyfriend of 15 years, Danny Mozes, who is the father of her children Samantha, 11, and Charles, 6.

"I'm in a fantastic relationship. It's been about four years," Nixon, 41, said in an interview with FoxNews.

"I'm in love with [Christine] because she's her. If she were a man, would I be in love with her? I don't know. We shop and cook and raise children — we both pitch in."

Nixon will rejoin her castmates from "Sex and the City" in the movie, which will be released on May 30.
