Alan Jackson has been tabbed to perform April 11 at Bryant-Denny Stadium, the home of the University of Alabama football team, making Alan the latest act named for the nationwide Gridiron Bash.
The Bash, which will take place at more than a dozen colleges, ties in college football spring games with concerts and pep rallies. The competition also features a fan vote for favorite school, with the winning program receiving a $1-million contribution to its scholarship fund.
While Alan is appearing April 11, most of the Gridiron Bash concerts take place April 18. Among the participants are Dwight Yoakam in West Virginia, Montgomery Gentry and Taylor Swift in Tennessee, Counting Crows in Colorado, Kelly Clarkson in Iowa, Fergie at Penn State, Fall Out Boy at Rutgers, ZZ Top at Texas A&M and Dierks Bentley in Kentucky.
Alan's latest album, Good Time, appears in stores tomorrow. In conjunction with the release, the new material is being previewed through tomorrow on Sirius Satellite Radio's Prime Country Channel.
