U.S. rockers The Killers surprised the audience at Thursday’s NME Awards - after securing a bizarre cameo from boxer Mike Tyson for their acceptance speech.

The Mr Brightside stars were named Best International Band at the ceremony in London, but supplied a video message of thanks as they were unable to attend the event.

The message was set in a barber’s shop - with Tyson peering from behind a magazine in the footage, reminding frontman Brandon Flowers to thank God for the accolade.
