O.J. Simpson

*TMZ.com is reporting that the sports memorabilia dealer who claims O.J. Simpson stole his merchandise at gunpoint has filed a lawsuit claiming the incident was pre-planned so the tape could be sold to their Web site.

In the lawsuit filed Tuesday in Orange County Superior Court, Alfred Beardsley says he was lured into the Las Vegas hotel room by Thomas Riccio, who claimed the owner of a software company was interested in buying some of his items.

Alfred says Riccio was simultaneously stirring the pot with O.J. by telling him that someone in the hotel was selling his stolen merchandise. According to the lawsuit, Riccio planned all along to record the Beardsley/Simpson encounter and sell it to the media – which is exactly what he ended up doing. TMZ purchased the tape and posted it on their Web site.

Beardsley is suing Riccio for invasion of privacy, fraud, intentional infliction of emotional distress and unjust enrichment, according to TMZ. He seeks unspecified damages.
