Drew Barrymore knows what it was like to be young, troubled and famous, that's why she has advice for the Hollywood stars who are currently in the same predicament she was in many years ago.
"If you don't pull it together for yourself, no one else will," the 32-year-old actress says in an interview with Vogue magazine.
"That's coming from a person who had to try it all... and who still loves to have a good time."
She had indeed tried it all. Although she bears the Hollywood name of Barrymore, her life wasn't as smooth as was expected of the child who starred in 'E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.' In the wake of her stardom, she entered a notoriously rebellious childhood.
Barrymore smoked cigarettes and drank alcohol at the young age of 9. She smoked marijuana at 10 and cocaine at 13. She entered rehab at 13 and again at 14.
But the wild child got her act together and became an established actress. She currently has her own production company.
"I do believe in 'Work hard, play hard,' but 'Work hard' always comes first, and it did even when I was wild and young."
