Brooks & Dunn have been booked during their career for concerts from Canada to Australia. Now the word "book" is being associated with them for the first time as authors.

Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn are set to release their first novel May 12, according to The Tennessean. Titled The Adventures Of Slim & Dusty, the work is based on the two western characters that have been traditionally featured in the prosaic liner notes of their albums. The book finds them engaged in a series of dangerous encounters in a road saga as they chase musical success.

Kix and Ronnie co-wrote Slim & Dusty with author Bill Fitzhugh.
