Trisha Yearwood

Trisha Yearwood's current single, "This Is Me You're Talking To," is about bumping into a former lover and the difficulties the encounter yields.

It's a topic that's been covered before in country music, in such hits as Earl Thomas Conley's "What I'd Say," Collin Raye's "Someone You Used To Know" and Reba McEntire's "I Know How He Feels." Part of the reason the subject works is that so many people have had that happen in their own lives.

Ultimately, Trisha believes that people tend to stay in relationships that aren't working longer than they should, but she can only guess at why they do it.

"That's probably a question for a therapist and not me," she says. "But, you know, change is always hard. And from my own experience and from all the people I care about in my life, I think it is always easier to stay in a situation than to change it. It takes courage to change. And most of the time, change is good, but it is difficult. Whether it is romance, in the case of this song, or a job, change can bring awkwardness."

Over the weekend, Trisha was spotted singing the national anthem before the 50th annual Daytona 500 NASCAR race.
