The Super Bowl took place two weeks ago, but Dierks Bentley is already helping fans gear up for football fever for next season.

Dierks' appearance is the capper on a huge pep rally that will feature head coach Rich Brooks, current and former players, and other fan events. The concert, which marks Dierks' first stadium date as a headliner, is part of the Gridiron Bash, a coordinated contest that takes place that weekend with concerts in more than a dozen schools, all of which have their intra-squad spring game the following day. Montgomery Gentry and Taylor Swift are set to perform for the University of Tennessee, pop singer Fergie plays Penn State, emo band Fall Out Boy appears at Rutgers, rockers the Black Crowes are slated for South Carolina, Counting Crows are in line in Colorado, blues-rock trio ZZ Top plays Texas A&M, and Kelly Clarkson has signed up to perform at the University of Iowa. The Gridiron Bash will include a contest between all the participating colleges. The winning institution — determined by a mix of attendance and votes cast by text message or by phone — will receive a $1 million donation to its general scholarship fund.
