Chicago retailer and former R.Kelly advisor George Daniels and his wife, Kelly's former publicist Regina Daniels, have confirmed what was rumored months ago -- that Kelly did indeed have a sexual relationship with Daniels'  21-year-old daughter Maxine. Apparently, Kelly even brought the daughter a car, which George and Regina confiscated. Daniels did a radio interview on Los Angeles' KJLH.

The Daniels' publicly split from Kelly last year, saying cryptically that Kelly had "crossed the line." At the time, rumors spread that Daniel's daughter was the reason, but nothing was confirmed or denied.  Daniels says he was finally motivated to do the interview because of his disgust at Kelly's behavior and the betrayal of trust, and for others who may find themselves facing the same situation. Kelly has apparently known Maxine since she was a little girl, as the Daniels' have had a 15-year association with Kelly. In the interview, George said,  "There are guys who sit around and give your child a couple of bucks to go to school and then wait until they get a little older, then they set that trap.”

Kelly's camp fired off a response via TMZ.com that read:
 
"It’s hard to take seriously the moral outrage expressed by George and Regina Daniels over R. Kelly’s relationship with Mr. Daniels’ adult daughter, Maxine. The fact is that they had no problem with the relationship — indeed, they encouraged it — while Ms. Daniels was on Mr. Kelly’s payroll.

It was Regina Daniels, then working as a publicist for Mr. Kelly, who persuaded him to attend her step-daughter’s 21st birthday party. And it was Regina Daniels who shortly thereafter gave her step-daughter Mr. Kelly’s private phone number, with the admonition: ‘Don’t tell your father.’ It was only after Ms. Daniels resigned her position to avoid being fired for incompetence that her stepdaughter’s relationship suddenly became an issue for her and her husband.”
