Bay Area rapper Kafani was arrested early Wednesday morning (February 13) on several charges including evading arrest, and weapons and marijuana possession.
Sources told BallerStatus.com that the rapper was taken into custody by Richmond Police Department after a high speed chase through Richmond, California.
After police finally caught up to the rapper's 2007 Mercedes CLS 500, a search of the car turned up 9mm handgun and a half-pound of marijuana.
While it is unclear as to why authorities attempted to pull over Kafani's vehicle, we've learned that the rapper had an old warrant issued in Utah, which was also brought up in his booking.
Kafani is currently being held at the Contra Costa County Jail, but is expected to post bail soon.
His lawyer said his bail will be roughly $400,000.
Kafani is a recording artist of Koch Records. He released his debut album, Money's My Motivation, last year, which spawned the club banger "Fast (Like A Nascar)."
