Incarcerated rapper Shyne's father, Dean Barrow, has been elected the first black Prime Minister of Belize according to Highbrid Nation.

The blog reports that Barrow won the Prime Minister position this past weekend beating out incumbent Said Musa who was accused of the embezzlement scandals and financial mismanagement in recent years.

Jamal "Shyne" Barrow was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison resulting from the infamous club shootout where Diddy and Jennifer Lopez were also apprehended but later released. Reports suggest that Shyne could be released from prison this year. If he is, he will reportedly join his family in Belize.
